saturday mornings

You know that old 80's song that goes "everybody's workin' for the weekend..."? That's all I keep thinking lately. We're just powering through our grueling work weeks and then doing our best to enjoy every moment of our weekends being together as a family. Fortunately, this was another great sunny weekend. On Saturday morning we all slept in and then made pancakes together and stood right at the kitchen counter eating them as they came off the grill. We weren't sure if the weather would hold, so we decided not to waste any time and went outside to plant our vegetable garden while still in our pajamas. I really wanted Liam to be part of this so he could see the whole process of putting seeds in the ground and then growing plants to get food. I remember doing this at his age and I am so excited for him to experience it too.

On Sunday I had a wonderful Mother's Day just hanging out with my guys. In the afternoon we went to see Phil's Grandma Eva and had a nice visit with her. I am so thankful to have her around since my own grandmothers as well as mother-in-law are all gone now. It has been so nice having her live near by so that Liam can get to know her. Of course I also called my own mom. It's fun that we get to send each other Mother's Day cards now.
